Course Title: Regulatory Compliance, Financial Literacy, and Oversight for SACCOs in Kenya
Duration: 5 Days (Full-Time)
Target Group: Board of directors, supervisory committee members, credit committee members, management staff, and key SACCO stakeholders.
1. Executive Summary
This course equips SACCO leaders and management staff with the knowledge and skills to ensure regulatory compliance, enhance financial literacy, and strengthen oversight functions. It emphasizes good governance, financial management, and accountability in line with the SASRA regulations and the Co-operative Societies Act. Through interactive sessions, participants will develop strategies to promote sound financial decision-making, transparency, and sustainable SACCO performance.
2. Course Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the regulatory framework governing SACCOs in Kenya.
- Strengthen financial literacy for better decision-making and risk management.
- Enhance oversight and governance capacity for SACCO boards and committees.
- Apply compliance tools to meet SASRA and Co-operative Societies Act requirements.
